My background and approach

I am a doctoral level clinical social worker/psychotherapist. My clinical experience spans over 20 years and includes working with individuals and families in mental health agencies, k-12 schools, higher education, and private practice settings. Each of these experiences has contributed to my growth as a therapist and my understanding of human resiliency and the power of supportive relationships in our healing and recovery. I currently work with adult individuals and couples who are navigating a variety of life stressors, transitions, and mental health and wellness concerns, including anxiety, depression, PTSD/complex trauma, grief/loss, chronic pain, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Additionally, I specialize in addressing the concerns of other therapists and helping professionals who endure compassion fatigue, secondary traumatic stress, and burnout.
I primarily identify as a psychodynamic therapist and prioritize helping people find relief in painful mind-body symptoms, develop greater insight into the origins of their symptoms, acknowledge the impact of their traumas, and develop a healthier relationship with themself and others.
I have extensive training in a variety of therapeutic techniques and, depending on the person’s unique needs, I may integrate any of the following tools into treatment: yoga-based, somatic and mindfulness-based approaches, EMDR therapy, cognitive and behavioral strategies, and health/wellness psycho-education.
